Platformly: The Good and The Bad
First, let’s delve into what sets Platformly apart from other marketing automation systems.
Supports Multiple Domains: Whether you’re a part of a large enterprise or a side hustler with multiple websites, Platformly can support all of your domains. The amount of domains depends on the package you purchase, though. The Starter package includes only one, but with the Growth package, you can connect up to five domains. If you need more, you can upgrade to the Unlimited package which is, well, unlimited!
While some other marketing automation software tools do offer the ability to have multiple domains, what stands out about Platformly is the price. Competitors like SendInBlue and Hubspot charge hundreds of dollars more for the same features.
Customizable UI: From business dashboards to landing pages and templates, Platformly offers a plethora of opportunities to fine-tune the software to your taste. The UI is easy-to-use and has a clean design, with no coding required. Using Platformly will ensure that you have a variety of options to make the program perfectly suitable to your preferences.
Customer-Centric Approach: Platformly has an excellent support team that is ready to help at the drop of a hat. No matter when you need help, Platformly has a series of resources in place to guide you along the way.
For immediate support, there is a live chat feature on the Platformly website. If live chat isn’t quite your style, there is also an option to email the Platformly team directly. Beyond that, in the help section there are categories for the most common types of issues, like Landing Pages, Contacts, Messages, and more. Not only that, but Platformly has a blog where their team members write about new features, common errors, and more. On the helpdesk page, there are links to the most frequently read articles.
Some Learning Curve: Platformly is widely touted as one of the most easy-to-use marketing automations software options out there, but that isn’t without some commitment to learning from your end. With the huge volume of excellent tools, this also means that there can be a bit of a learning curve involved with using them.
Luckily the Platformly team is aware of this and has a thorough onboarding process to combat these difficulties. While the large volume of features can feel overwhelming, if you’re committed to spending a little time learning how the software operates, you’ll be comfortable before you know it.
Like we mentioned before, Platformly also offers a blog where they detail the new features they release and show users how to implement them. The team will give you an overview of the feature and show you how it can help your business. These articles are complete with visuals of the software, as well as arrows and drawings on the images to show you exactly how to apply them to your account.
Despite the challenging aspects of learning everything, we also found that many features, such as implementing data dashboards and creating marketing automations, are as simple as dragging and dropping.
Ultimately there is a learning curve, but this is only because of the wide variety of features that Platformly offers.
Overly Simple Templates: Platformly offers a wide selection of template options, mainly for forms and emails. While there are a lot of them, we found that many of them have a pretty basic look. Some people love the clean and simple design, but others find that it leaves more to be desired.
There are still some opportunities to customize, though. For example, the Yakimbee template offers the option to replace the original stock photos with more than 55 million royalty photos, videos, and vector images.
If you’re someone who wants highly customizable and fashionable templates, you may find Platformly lacking. However, their options will still be able to get the job done, and will provide you with a simple, clean look.
Limited Integrations: The amount of integrations that Platformly offers is far below its competition. SendInBlue offers over 200, and ActiveBuilding offers 800+ integrations, where Platformly offers just 37.
Luckily, we found that the Platformly team has chosen some of the most relevant integrations to include. They offer Google Analytics to PayPal to Facebook to YouTube and more.
In addition, Platformly does allow users to add their own integrations. However, this does require some more advanced technical skills. It also suggests seven different “connector” applications that users can download to connect apps with no native navigation, like buying Integrately will allow you to connect Facebook ads and Google Sheets to Platformly. However, these will cost extra.
Platformly pricing is right on par with its competitors. However, unlike its competitors, Platformly offers a wide range of capabilities, and includes many features that others charge extra for, like link tracking and CRM. While there are some less expensive options out there, those systems typically have more minimal tools.
Platformly’s pricing ranges by how many contacts your business has. The website offers a sliding scale, so users can see all of the different pricing options depending on their individual business needs.
The pricing starts as low as $19.99 a month for those who have 1,000 or fewer clients, and scales all the way up to 100,000 contacts at $499.99 a month. However, it also offers custom quotes for those who have even more contacts. In addition, if you choose to buy a yearly subscription, you’ll get your first two months free.
There are three packages for you to choose from: Starter, Growth, and Unlimited.
The prices at the bottom of each category are what is added to the baseline price depending on how many contacts your business costs from the sliding scale.
These prices are minimal when compared to one of the most popular marketing services, HubSpot, which costs close to $800 every month. However, if you don’t need as many advanced features and you are just looking for a simple email automation software, there are other options out there for a lower cost. While Platformly is great, we don’t want you to have to pay for what you don’t need!
Platformly can be slightly more expensive than some other marketing automation software options, but none in the same price range have the same level of capabilities and ease of use.
