We said this would be an honest review and so here are the cons of using Flodesk.

Lacking integration options for WooCommerce
Flodesk doesn’t automatically connect with WooCommerce. The good news is there are methods for connecting your WooCommerce site with Flodesk. The bad news is it does require an additional tool called Zappier and there may be additional costs depending on your email marketing goals.
Flodesk does include a Shopify integration that links your Shopify customer emails to your Flodesk segments, so if you are using Shopify for your e-commerce solution then you are in luck.
Limited font options
From a branding perspective, Flodesk is limited in its font options. There currently is no option to upload your own font to match your specific brand and you will be forced to use its available font options.
Thankfully, the fonts that are included with Flodesk are very attractive and will likely be suitable for a majority of businesses.
Lack of full preview for emails in a workflow
Now we are just being nit-picky here…but it really annoys us that we can’t open a full preview of an email inside a workflow without pausing the entire workflow.
See a preview of this limitation below. This is as large as the email preview gets without pausing the entire sequence and opening the emailing to view.
It’s a small limitation compared to all the horrendous and confusing setup of other email marketing providers, but it honestly annoys us and is worth noting. Overall, Flodesk isn’t perfect but we do think the pros far outweigh any cons.
Is it difficult to switch from MailChimp to Flodesk?
No, it is not difficult to switch from MailChimp to Flodesk. We made the switch from Mailchimp to Flodesk a year ago and have been extremely happy.
Because the Flodesk setup is fairly simple, there isn’t a huge challenge when making the switch.

With any new system or software, there is going to be a learning curve. However, in our opinion, Flodesk is the most user-friendly system we have used to date. Because the Flodesk system is so easy to navigate you will likely have a better experience as you learn how to use it.
Email designs, sequences, and workflows don’t transfer
There is no method for importing your current email designs and workflows from a different provider. This means if you’ve already done a lot of work to set up workflows and emails with your current provider then you may have to dedicate more time to transfer to Flodesk.
Flodesk is easy to set up but you will be starting fresh and will need to recreate all your automation and email sequences in the Flodesk system.
The bottom line: Flodesk is absolutely worth the money and we highly recommend switching to Flodesk
As we write this post we made the switch to Flodesk over a year ago and have tested all of its features. After a year of using Flodesk we can confidently say we are happy, happy, happy!
